
Deepak John Mathew has played a pivotal role in establishing the design department at IIT Hyderabad. Deepak has curated several exhibitions at National Institute of Design (NID), contributing to various NID publications over time. Having exhibited his work at many international and national exhibitions, he has authored several papers and written a book called “Principles of Design through Photography”. Former Chairperson Education and Founder head of Admissions Cell at National Institute of Design Ahmedabad, he has been teaching Graphic Design for the last 25 years.
His research areas and personal practice revolves around exploring cross-cultural identities through letterforms and calligraphy. His Gurmukhi Calligraphy (Punjabi Language) has been exhibited in several exhibitions both across India and abroad.

Dr. Sanjeev Prashar is a professor at the Indian Institute of Management Raipur, with 32 years of experience in teaching postgraduate management courses, corporate training, and consulting. He holds an MBA and Ph.D. in Management from the University of Kurukshetra, India, and has published 90 research papers in reputable international journals such as the Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, Journal of Consumer Marketing, and Journal of Business Research. Pradyumna Vyas

Pradyumna Vyas is a leading figure in India’s design ecosystem with over 35 years of experience in design education, policy, and promotion. He currently serves as Senior Advisor for Design Promotion and Innovation at Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and is President of the World Design Organization (WDO).
Former Director of the National Institute of Design (2009–2019), Prof. Vyas played a key role in elevating its global standing and advancing design for social impact and sustainability. He has also contributed significantly to national and global design policy, including his role in shaping India’s National Design Policy and WDO’s Global Design Policy Framework.

Dr. Ashok Mondal

Archana Shekara is a Professor of Graphic Design and Creative Director of Design Streak Studio, a research-based social innovation lab at Illinois State University. She is also the founder and chair of the South Asian Design Educators Alliance (SADEA), a global platform dedicated to advancing South-Asian design histories, pedagogies, and perspectives.
Archana Shekara is a Professor of Graphic Design and the Harold Gregor Endowed Professor of Art, Co-Director of Ethnic Studies and Creative Director of Design Streak Studio, a research-based social innovation lab at Illinois State University. As a socio-cultural researcher, she explores transnational identity, racial equity, and decoloniality through a brown cultural lens, utilizing ethnographic narratives to raise critical awareness. Her creative practice spans type design, participatory experiences, and interactive installations that incorporate mixed and emerging digital media to evoke multi-sensory engagement. Her scholarship has been featured in several national and international exhibitions, publications, and conferences.

Tridha Gajjar serves as a senior faculty member in Communication Design at NID Ahmedabad, bringing over 20 years of professional experience to the institution.
Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to academic excellence and design pedagogy.
She earned her MFA in Applied Arts, specialising in Visualisation, in 1995, followed by a PhD in 2001 from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi. Her doctoral research examined the origin and development of printing within the context of advertising. Her academic pursuits were supported by both Junior and Senior Research Fellowships from the University Grants Commission (UGC). In recognition of her contributions, she was honoured with the Distinguished Alumnus Award at the International BHU Alumni Meet in 2015.
With a two-decade tenure at NID, she currently holds several key leadership positions, including Principal Faculty in Communication Design, Activity Chairperson for Research & Development, Head of the PhD Programme, and Head of Communication Design.
Her pedagogical contributions span the B.Des, M.Des and PhD levels across multiple disciplines. Her areas of expertise include Visual Thinking, Semiotics, Visual Perception, Packaging Design, Wayfinding & Signage Design systems. She maintains that design is a creative expression that necessitates rigorous experimentation, exploration, and organisation, coupled with a profound sense of moral responsibility toward the global community.
