INDIA’S BEST DESIGN PROJECT 2021
Project Introduction:
The project is inspired by the ‘off the loom, unstitched and unpierced’ concept of the saree. The fabric has been woven with indigenous cotton and wool, using the dying craft of Khes (heavy cotton shawl) weaving from Haryana. In a process that involves no cutting or stitching, each panel is set on the loom and assembled through knotting to form a garment. The style of the silhouettes developed is inspired by traditional Indian costumes such as Choga and Abho.
