Gauda – Invoking Classical Bengal

Project Introduction:

Gauda was conceived of as a collection and festival that sought to present art and design that celebrates the classical heritage of Bengal. It is an attempt to sift through the sands of time to discover the Bengal of yore, hidden in haste and fear — a hallowed abode of vitality, knowledge and unbound wealth.

The festival consisted of a showcase of art and lifestyle accessories designed by Karu. Visitors were presented a new story of historic Bengal – with its powerful empires, glorious cities, awe-inspiring temples, humming monasteries, and ports lined with trading ships. A Bengal lost but not forgotten.
